A little closer to nature

Outdoor play is an important part of life at Little Loco’s. Our outdoor space invites children to move, explore and use their imaginations while building physical and social skills.

  • Adventure play: slides, tunnels and climbing equipment help build strength, coordination and confidence.
  • Sensory garden: plants and textures offer a calm place to explore the senses.
  • Mud kitchen: mud, water and natural ingredients inspire imaginative cooking and working together.

From little seeds to big discoveries

Our kitchen garden helps children understand where food comes from. Together, we plant, nurture and harvest vegetables, herbs and fruit throughout the year.

  • Vegetable beds: children follow seasonal produce, such as carrots, tomatoes and peas, from seed to harvest.
  • Herbs: mint, basil and rosemary invite children to explore touch and smell.
  • Composting: food scraps and garden waste introduce caring for the environment.
  • Harvest days: collecting our produce gives children pride in what they have grown.

Growing a taste for good food

The produce from our garden is used in nursery meals and snacks. Children experience the journey from growing to eating, and are encouraged to explore new fruit and vegetables. Caring for our garden also builds practical skills and a sense of responsibility for the world around us.
